Volume of a Cylinder

Volume = π r² h

Where:
r = radius
h = height

A cylinder is three-dimensional circular shape. Some common items that are in the shape of a cylinder are Pringles cans and cardboard paper towel tubes. The volume of a cylinder is the amount of space it takes up.

The radius of a cylinder is half the width (or length) of its circular ends. (It can be half the width or the length because all circles are symmetrical.)

To use this calculator, enter the radius of the cylinder in the box labeled "Radius of the base" and its height in the box labeled "Height" and press "Find the Volume."
