Magnetic Field Magnitude

This calculator uses the following equation:

B = F / (Q * v * sin(A))
B = F/ (Q*v) [If v is perpendicular to B]
Where:
  • B = Magnetic Field Magnitude
  • F = Force
  • Q = Stationary positive charge
  • v = Velocity
  • A = Angle of velocity in relation to B

Note that when the velocity is perpendicular to the magnitude of the magnetic field that you can eliminate the end of the formula because the sin of 90° is 1.
