The Towers of Hanoi

The point of this game is to get all of the disks on one of the side pegs, with the largest on the bottom, the second-to-largest on top of that, third-to-largest on top of that, etc. To achieve this, move the disks around between each three pegs. The main rule is that in no point in the game can you place a disk on top of a disk that is smaller than it. (If disk A is the smallest disk, disk B is the middle, and disk C is the largest, neither disk B nor disk C can ever be put on top of disk A.)

There is no simple way to explain how to play this game; you pretty much just have to get the hang of it by trial and error. I can assure you that (as with most other things) the more you play, the better you will get.

Beginning players should definitely start by playing with three disks (to do this, use the drop-down menu labeled "Disks:" and select the number "3." (This drop-down menu is to the left of the "Start the game over" button.))
