The median of a set of numbers is the number that appears in the center when the numbers are listed in order (lowest to highest or vise versa.) To find the median of a set of numbers, list all of the numbers in either ascending or descending order and look for the most central number on the list.
If there is an even amount of numbers in your list, there won't be one number that's exactly in the middle. In this case, the median is the mean of the two numbers that share the center of the list.
For example, the median for the list 1, 3, 8, 13, 16, 19 is both 8 and 13 (there are two numbers that come before and after this set in the list.) Therefore, the median of this list is the mean of 8 and 13.
If you receive conflicting solutions, it may be because of an extra space in the box that you list your numbers. If you put two spaces between a set of numbers, the calculator will count one of the spaces as a "0" and this will affect your answer.
