Actual MPH Help

Actual MPH = 3600/ seconds per mile

Where:
MPH = miles per hour

Actual MPH gives your average speed based on how many seconds it took you to drive each mile of your trip. It then translates this into hours by dividing the amount of seconds in an hour by the average amount of seconds it took you to drive each mile.

Since a person's speed can vary quite often in an hour of driving, you may prefer actual MPH over averaged MPH because it gives a more accurate answer of your average speed. This is because while MPH focuses on how many miles you drove each hour, actual MPH focuses on how fast it took you to drive each mile.
